8 COMMON SENSE WAYS TO CONSERVE WATER
CA Gov Jerry Brown has called for a voluntary 20% cutback in water usage as the state faces the worst drought in 100 years. Here are 8 ways you can help.
- Install low flush toilets, low flow showerheads, water saving appliances.
- Repair leaky faucets, toilets and outdoor irrigation systems promptly.
- Limit showers to five minutes.
- Don’t run water. Wet, lather, turn the water off and on again to rinse when washing hands/hair, brushing teeth or shaving.
- Use the washer and dishwasher for full loads only. Wash dark colors in cold water to save energy and color fastness.
- Rinse veggies and fruits in a stopped sink, not running water.
- Use the disposal sparingly. Compost instead.
